the short version

we collect your info to run events and keep you in the loop. we don't sell your data. we do use facebook (meta) and google tools for ads and analytics, which share some of your site activity to help us reach people who might like our events. we don't spam you, and you can limit the ad tracking anytime.

what we collect

when you sign up or rsvp:

  • first and last name
  • email address
  • phone number (if you provide it)

when you create an account:

  • phone number (used for login via one-time verification code)
  • first and last name
  • email address
  • points balance and earning history
  • email verification status

when you attend events:

  • which events you've attended
  • check-in status and timestamps
  • any preferences or dietary restrictions you share with us

when you visit our website:

  • basic analytics (pages visited, general location, device type)
  • we use cookies to keep the site running smoothly

how we use it

  • to send you event confirmations and reminders
  • to send our newsletter (only if you opt in)
  • to improve our events based on what people actually like
  • to contact you if something changes with an event you're attending
  • to authenticate your account via one-time verification codes sent to your phone
  • to track and display your points balance and event history
  • to process rewards redemption

what we don't do

  • sell your data
  • send you emails you didn't sign up for
  • keep your data longer than we need to

third-party services

we use a few tools to make things work:

  • stripe - for secure payment processing
  • mailchimp / mandrill - for email newsletters and sms messages
  • supabase - for our database and user authentication
  • vercel - for hosting our website
  • google analytics - to understand how people use our site
  • meta pixel- measure how our facebook and instagram perform and reach people who've shown interest in our events

these services have their own privacy policies. we only share what's necessary for them to do their job.

advertising and analytics

we use meta pixel and google analytics to understand how people find us and to show our events to people who might like them. to do that, these tools collect information about your activity on our site (like pages you visit and actions you take, including ticket purchases) and share it with meta and google, who may use it to show you relevant ads on their platforms and other sites.

if you'd rather not have this activity used for ad targeting, you can:

  • adjust ad personalization in your meta and google account settings
  • use your browser's privacy and cookie controls
  • email us at info@letsdofunthings.org and we'll help

your choices

unsubscribe anytime- every email has an unsubscribe link. one click and you're out.

request your data - want to know what we have on you? just ask.

delete your account - email us at info@letsdofunthings.org and we'll delete your account, points balance, and all associated data. this cannot be undone.

payment information

we use stripe to process payments. your credit card details are sent directly to stripe and never touch our servers. we only receive a confirmation that your payment was successful, along with a transaction reference. stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.

sms messages

if you opt in to sms reminders:

  • we'll only text you about events you're attending
  • messages come from (309) 301-1662 via mandrill
  • you can reply STOP anytime to opt out
  • standard message and data rates apply

photos at events

we sometimes take photos at events for social media and our website. if you'd rather not be photographed, just let the host know. if you see a photo of yourself you want removed, email us and we'll take it down.

data security

we use industry-standard security practices to protect your information. but no system is 100% secure, so we can't make guarantees.

children

our events are for adults (18+). we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

changes to this policy

if we make significant changes, we'll let you know via email or on our website.
