the basics

by using our website, attending our events, or signing up for communications from let's do fun things, you agree to these terms. if you don't agree, that's okay, but you probably shouldn't use our stuff.

using our website

• don't do anything illegal
• don't try to break or hack the site
• don't scrape our content or data
• don't pretend to be us

we reserve the right to block anyone who violates these terms.

accounts

creating an account

• accounts are created using your phone number via a one-time verification code (OTP)
• you must provide a valid phone number, first name, last name, and email address
• you're responsible for keeping your account information accurate and up to date
• one account per person. don't create accounts for other people

your responsibilities

• you're responsible for all activity on your account
• don't share your verification codes with anyone
• let us know immediately if you think someone else is using your account

account termination

• you can delete your account at any time by emailing us
• we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used fraudulently
• if your account is terminated, any accumulated points will be forfeited

points and rewards

earning points

• you must have an account to earn points
• free events: earn 10 points when you attend the event
• paid events: earn 3 points per dollar spent at the time of purchase
• points are only awarded for orders placed while logged in to your account
• you can verify your email address in your account settings to link past orders and retroactively earn points for previous purchases

redeeming points

• points can be redeemed for prizes, perks, and exclusive experiences
• available rewards and redemption options may change at any time
• points have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for money

program rules

• we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or end the points program at any time
• we may adjust point balances if points were awarded in error or through fraudulent activity
• points may expire after 12 months of account inactivity
• abuse of the points system (creating multiple accounts, fake check-ins, etc.) will result in account termination and forfeiture of all points

events

tickets and rsvps

• tickets are non-refundable unless we cancel the event
• if we cancel, you'll get a full refund
• we may offer credits or transfers at our discretion
• don't resell tickets without our permission
• payments are processed securely through stripe. we do not store your payment information on our servers

at the event

• follow venue rules
• be respectful to other attendees and staff
• we reserve the right to remove anyone who's being disruptive, harassing others, or creating an unsafe environment
• no refunds if you get kicked out

waiver of liability

by registering for, purchasing tickets to, or attending any event organized, hosted, or promoted by let's do fun things ("LDFT"), you acknowledge and agree to the following:

assumption of risk

you voluntarily assume all risks associated with attending LDFT events, including but not limited to risks of personal injury, illness, property damage or loss, and death. events may involve physical activities (such as dancing, sports, and outdoor activities), consumption of food and beverages, travel to and from venues, and interaction with other attendees. you acknowledge that these activities carry inherent risks and you participate at your own discretion.

release and waiver

to the fullest extent permitted by law, you hereby release, waive, and forever discharge let's do fun things, its owners, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, contractors, and affiliated parties from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, suits, damages, losses, expenses (including attorneys' fees), and liabilities of any kind, whether known or unknown, arising out of or in connection with your attendance at or participation in any LDFT event. this release applies regardless of whether the claim arises from negligence, gross negligence, or any other cause.

indemnification

you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless let's do fun things and its affiliated parties from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your actions, omissions, or violations of these terms while attending any LDFT event.

alcohol and substance acknowledgment

some LDFT events may involve the service of alcoholic beverages. if you choose to consume alcohol, you do so at your own risk and agree to drink responsibly. LDFT is not responsible for any actions, injuries, or damages resulting from alcohol consumption. you must be 21 years of age or older to consume alcohol at LDFT events.

medical acknowledgment

you represent that you are physically and mentally capable of participating in the event activities. you are responsible for disclosing any medical conditions, allergies, or dietary restrictions that may be relevant. LDFT is not responsible for any adverse reactions or medical emergencies.

photo, video, and media release

by attending any LDFT event, you grant let's do fun things, its agents, and authorized representatives the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right and license to:

• photograph, record, film, or otherwise capture your image, likeness, voice, and appearance in any media format
• use, reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works from such recordings for any purpose, including but not limited to marketing, advertising, social media, website content, promotional materials, and press
• use your name, likeness, and biographical information in connection with such recordings

you waive any right to inspect or approve the use of your image or likeness, and you release LDFT from any claims arising from the use of such recordings, including but not limited to claims for invasion of privacy, defamation, or right of publicity.

this release applies to all LDFT events you attend, whether or not you are specifically aware that photography or recording is taking place.

if you wish to request removal of a specific photo or video, you may contact us at info@letsdofunthings.org. we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests, but are not obligated to remove content that has already been published or distributed.

user content

if you post reviews, comments, or share content related to our events:

• you're responsible for what you post
• don't post anything illegal, defamatory, or harassing
• we can remove content that violates these terms
• by posting, you give us permission to use that content for promotional purposes

• our newsletter (if you opt in) with upcoming events and community updates

frequency

• transactional emails: as needed based on your registrations
• newsletter: up to 2 times per week (if subscribed)

• don't use them without permission

limitation of liability

to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• LDFT, its owners, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our website, attendance at our events, or any interactions with other attendees
• we are not liable for any injuries, illness, property damage, theft, or loss that occurs at, during, or in connection with any LDFT event, regardless of cause
• we are not liable for the acts, omissions, or conduct of any third parties, including but not limited to venues, vendors, caterers, performers, or other attendees
• our total aggregate liability for any and all claims shall not exceed the amount you actually paid to LDFT for the specific event or service giving rise to the claim
• LDFT provides its services and events "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied

some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. in such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

changes to these terms

we may update these terms from time to time. if we make significant changes, we'll let you know via email or on our website. continued use of our services means you accept the updated terms.

governing law

these terms are governed by the laws of the state of illinois. any disputes will be resolved in the courts of cook county, illinois.
