let's do fun things chicago hosts social events designed for people in their 20s to 30s who are looking to meet new people, make new friends, and do fun things. salsa nights. language exchange mixers. creative singles events. curated game nights. sunset watch parties. events where people connect.
we're expanding our community organizer network and looking for charismatic, reliable, emotionally intelligent people who know how to read a room.
this is not traditional event staffing. this is community building.
who you are
you are great with people and comfortable walking into a room where not everyone knows each other.
you might be
- the friend who introduces everyone
- a former RA or orientation leader
- a hospitality pro
- a fitness instructor
- someone who organizes group chat meetups
- someone who naturally makes people feel included
you walk into a room and instinctively
- notice who came alone
- introduce people in a way that feels natural
- read the energy of the space
- step in when something feels off
you are someone who
- is warm, confident, and emotionally aware
- can be playful when the event calls for it
- can be calm and grounding when needed
- can enforce boundaries respectfully
- protects the space and the people in it
what you'll do
depending on the event, you might:
- run check-in and welcome guests
- help guests feel comfortable quickly
- make light announcements or guide the flow
- lead or support icebreakers and activities
- facilitate conversations
- set up signage, materials, wristbands, game stations
- help close down and reset the space
some events are high energy. some are relaxed and intimate. your job is to support the experience the event is designed to create.
